- Pastors hit the streets
Press release
April 2008
And organisers are looking for volunteers to take on the role with funding for the Wolverhampton Street Pastors project coming from Wolverhampton City Council. The aims of the multi-denominational pastors are to work in the city, especially in the evenings, and provide a continuous visible presence on the streets.
They work with various bodies including the church, voluntary groups and the police. The general criteria for anyone wanting to be a Street Pastor is that they should be over 18, have been committed to a Christian fellowship or a year and be able to obtain a positive reference from their church or minister.
“All Street Pastors will need a reference from the vicar or minister of their church and will have to undergo an enhanced disclosure Criminal Records Bureau check.”
For more details contact the Reverend Richard Moy on 01902 399827. ENDS
